The Baltimore Ravens could be without one of their most important offensive weapons when they face the New Orleans Saints in Week 2, with Zay Flowers listed as doubtful.
Flowers returned to practice on a limited basis Friday after missing Wednesday and Thursday while recovering from the hamstring injury he suffered during the Ravens' Week 1 game.
Flowers remains doubtful
The receiver produced an explosive performance against the Indianapolis Colts before leaving the game with the injury. Flowers recorded 150 receiving yards and a touchdown in the first half.
Baltimore removed him from the game after the injury and has handled his recovery cautiously throughout the week.
Head coach Jesse Minter has described Flowers as day to day while emphasizing the importance of preventing the hamstring issue from becoming a lingering problem.
Rashod Bateman could take over as WR1
If Flowers cannot play, Rashod Bateman would move into the Ravens' top receiving role.
LaJohntay Wester, Devontez Walker, Chris Moore and rookie Elijah Sarratt could also see increased opportunities in the passing game.
Ravens have other questionable starters
Flowers is not the only key Raven dealing with an injury. Left tackle Ronnie Stanley, left guard John Simpson and outside linebacker Trey Hendrickson are also listed as questionable.
Baltimore will host the Saints on Sunday, September 20, at M&T Bank Stadium. The Ravens enter the game at 1-0, while New Orleans is coming off an overtime loss to Detroit.
