Chargers incorporan a Marquez Valdes-Scantling para reforzar su cuerpo de receptores

Chargers Add Marquez Valdes-Scantling to Practice Squad

The Los Angeles Chargers have added veteran wide receiver Marquez Valdes-Scantling to their practice squad as they work to strengthen a receiving group dealing with multiple injuries.

The move comes after several Chargers receivers were affected by injuries. KeAndre Lambert-Smith was placed on injured reserve with a hamstring injury, while Ladd McConkey and Derius Davis have also dealt with physical issues.

Veteran experience for Los Angeles

Valdes-Scantling brings eight seasons of NFL experience to the Chargers and has won two Super Bowls during his time with the Kansas City Chiefs.

The 31-year-old receiver has also played recently for the San Francisco 49ers and Pittsburgh Steelers. His biggest strength remains his ability to stretch the field and create explosive plays with his speed.

Chargers add depth before Week 2

Los Angeles is looking to create more depth around quarterback Justin Herbert as the team prepares for its second game of the season.

The Chargers will host the Las Vegas Raiders on Sunday, September 20, at SoFi Stadium. Kickoff is scheduled for 1:05 PM PT.

Valdes-Scantling may not immediately receive a major offensive role, but his experience could become valuable if injuries continue to limit the Chargers' receiving options.
