NFL MVP Finalists Are Allen, Barkley, Burrow, Goff and Jackson

Josh Allen, Saquon Barkley, Joe Burrow, Jared Goff and Lamar Jackson have been selected as finalists for The Associated Press 2024 NFL Most Valuable Player Award.

Featured Contenders
Josh Allen: Helped the Buffalo Bills to their fifth consecutive AFC East title. He had 3,731 passing yards, 28 touchdowns and 6 interceptions, with a 101.4 passer rating. He also had 531 rushing yards and 12 scores.

Saquon Barkley: Had a historic season with 2,005 rushing yards, the eighth best mark in NFL history. Although he did not play in the Eagles' final regular-season game, he led Philadelphia to the NFC East title and the conference championship game.

Joe Burrow: Led the league with 4,918 passing yards and 43 touchdowns, career-highs. However, the Cincinnati Bengals failed to make the playoffs with a 9-8 record.

Jared Goff: Led the Detroit Lions to first place in the NFC, throwing for 4,629 yards, 37 touchdowns and 9 interceptions. Despite this, the Lions were eliminated in the divisional round.

Lamar Jackson: Seeking his third MVP award, the reigning winner led the Baltimore Ravens to the AFC North title. He had his best season with 4,172 passing yards, 41 touchdowns, and a league-best 119.6 passer rating. Jackson also had 915 rushing yards and 4 touchdowns, though his team was eliminated by the Bills in the divisional round.

More honors
Barkley, Burrow and Jackson are also finalists for Offensive Player of the Year, while Burrow is also competing for Comeback Player of the Year.

Upcoming announcements
The winners of these awards will be revealed at the NFL gala on February 6, after voting by a national panel of 50 specialized journalists who completed their ballots before the start of the playoffs.
