The Dallas Cowboys are facing a new bout of controversy off the field. Receiver and return specialist KaVontae Turpin was arrested after being found in possession of marijuana and illegally carrying a weapon, according to local reports.
The incident reportedly occurred early Friday morning, when authorities stopped the player at a traffic stop. During the search, unregistered marijuana and weapons were found on him. Turpin was taken to a police station, where he was later released on bail.
The team has yet to issue an official statement, but the Cowboys are expected to address the case in the coming hours, as it could have repercussions both legally and for internal discipline within the franchise.
Turpin, known for his speed and dynamism on special teams, was emerging as a key player for Dallas in the 2025 season. However, this arrest could seriously complicate his future in the NFL, where the league maintains strict personal conduct policies.
The case is pending, and it remains to be determined whether he will face additional sanctions from the NFL.
