The Pittsburgh Steelers will once again face a significant loss as their leading receiver, George Pickens, will miss his second straight game due to a hamstring injury.
Head coach Mike Tomlin confirmed that an MRI revealed Pickens' injury is more serious than anticipated, calling it a Grade 2 strain. While there is a remote chance the receiver will play against the Philadelphia Eagles this Sunday, Tomlin indicated that Pickens will most likely be out.
"We want to get him back as quickly as possible," Tomlin said. "But we want to make sure we don't turn a small problem into a bigger one."
Pickens leads the Steelers this season with 850 yards on 55 receptions and three touchdowns. However, his absence leaves a significant void on the team, which will rely on receivers such as Scotty Miller, Van Jefferson and Mike Williams to fill his shoes.
With a tight schedule that includes three games in 11 days, the Steelers face a significant challenge in their quest to stay competitive in the playoff race. Pickens' recovery will be crucial to the team's aspirations.
